Job: Project- and Portfoliomanager Finance - Insurance Sector

Job intro

As Project- and Portfoliomanager you will be reporting directly to the group CFO and you will manage the project portfolio within the Finance department. 


As Project- and Portfoliomanager you will manage the change projects within the Finance Department.

You will be responsible for planning, controlling, organising, steering and realising the projects with various scope, budget and complexiity. Apart form your role as a (strategic) portfoliomanager, you will also steer the largest projects yourself as senior projectmanager,  such as  the IFRS 17/IFRS 9 change project.

In general, your function will consist of:

  • You manage the long-term budget, the required resources and the risks/constraints, and give advice on priorities if necessary;
  • You align with all stakeholders and manage the related actions;
  • You anticipate, mitigate, solve or escalate issues, risks and scope changes of the projects in the finance project portfolio;
  • You report and communicate on the progress of the different projects to the project sponsor and the steering committee.
  • You act as a project manager for certain projects in the portfolio, such as the implementation of IFRS 17/9:
  • You formulate the objectives and results expected by the project sponsor and develop a detailed plan with well-defined tasks;
  • You define the project and the project structure, and apply the appropriate project management methodology in close collaboration with the Program Management Officer;
  • You manage and execute the project, ensuring it delivers the expected results in time: you monitor the delivery, timing and budget of the project, and conduct the project sign-off.
  • You identify the change needs, change readiness and develop the change actions.

  • You have a Master degree in Business Administration, Economics, Business Informatics or similar;
  • You have more than 10 years of experience in the financial sector, preferably in the insurance industry in the area of Finance;
  • You have a good understanding of IFRS;
  • You have a proven track record in managing projects for a financial department;
  • You have experience with process management (techniques) and project portfolio management;
  • You have a thorough understanding of project management techniques and methods, including change management principles;
  • You have proven ICT knowledge and experience;
  • You have excellent communication skills and an analytical mindset;
  • You are fluent in English.
